The NIADA Eagle Award continues to be a very prestigious, coveted award that is given annually to the top qualifying membership producers in each state for membership recruitment during a twelve month period, usually June 1st through May 31st, which would normally run from the current NIADA Convention through the next NIADA Convention, however a State Association may use a calendar year for tracking purposes. The Eagle Award is an opportunity to honor real membership generators. It has become a very successful program as it stands for the member who excelled above all the rest in developing new membership. It is one of the most important awards that the association presents. The Eagle Award may be presented on a State Association level during an event of the associations choosing.
Qualifications for the Eagle Award:
1) The recipient must be a dealer or associate member in good standing of NIADA engaged in the business of buying and selling motor vehicles or allied industry provider.
2) The recipient must first qualify by signing up a minimum of twenty (20) new dealer memberships within the calendar year of qualification.
3) Each state is entitled to multiple Eagle Award winners as long as the member fulfills the above requirements.
4) It shall be the responsibility of the State Association to submit to NIADA the name of the qualifying recipient(s) and a list of qualifying new members signed by the recipient(s).
The competition runs January 1 through December 31 of each year (Calendar Year) if the state so chooses. Each state is asked to submit the name of their recipients by January 31 of the year following the year of competition, so that NIADA has adequate time to prepare the Eagle Award and ship it to the State Association.
(OR)
The competition may run from NIADA (or) State Association-Convention to Convention depending on when they are held. Each state is asked to submit the name of their winner or winners by at least 4 weeks prior to the presentation date.
Each State Association must decide what award schedule they will use and continue with that schedule year after year to avoid duplication of new members signed and the time frame in which they were signed by the individual.
