Certified Master Dealer®

This program began in 2001 and has become the core of NIADA’s used motor vehicle dealer training program. Dealers, who have demonstrated their commitment to this industry and who support the principles and ethical business standards that the designation of CMD® represents, are the leaders who have chosen to become a part of this respected group of professionals.  Upon completion of this program, participants can look forward to using new knowledge that will sharpen their business skills and to receiving increased respect from business associates, customers and peers.

During the four day session, successful strategies in the following areas are addressed.

  • Business Management
  • Merchandising
  • Financial Management
  • Business Planning
  • Human Resources

Each of these topics is presented as an instructional module in a very, relaxed interactive learning environment. An assessment is administered at the end of each module to determine the participant’s mastery of the information presented.  A passing score must be obtained in order to receive credit for that module.
Northwood University in Midland, Michigan developed the CMD course in collaboration with NIADA and awards 4 Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) upon successful completion of the course.

The CMD® 2008 Progrem is being underwritten, in part, by New South Federal Savings Bank. We welcome their active participation and support of the program's growth.
