A $10,000 bond is required for all dealers. Renewal licenses require a new Dealer Surety Bond (Form MV-126-DS-P).

All dealers must be licensed. If an individual sells five or more vehicles in a calendar year, license is required. Dealer licenses are renewed annually on June 30. New Car Dealers must provide at time of ap­plication, proof of established place of business, display area, franchise agreement, and room for repairs. An on-site in­spection of dealer facilities is conducted prior to the issuance of a dealer license. Periodic inspections of dealer facilities are also conducted. Used Car Dealer r equirements are the same as for new car dealers, with the exception of a franchise agreement.

Must have location that is free of any other business and not located at a place of residence and meet with investigator.

Requirements:

1. Completed application
2. 20/40/10 dealer liability insurance
3. Personal property tax receipt in the name of each owner/corporate officer or an affidavit from the county in which the dealership will be located stating that no taxes are owed
4. Pictures of dealership and sign with letters no less than 4” in height
5. Valid business license in the stat of West Virginia
