OSHA Safety/Hazmat Training

The Coordinating Committee For Automotive Repair (CCAR) is a not-for-profit organization that works with the automotive industry to provide best practice information and training.

HazmatU – a suite of online Hazardous Material handling courses – was launched in 2005 to help those who work with air bag modules, seat belt pretensioners, batteries and more to comply with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) training requirements.

Moreover, CCAR’s “Alliance” agreement with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) works to develop best practices for those who work on or around vehicles to help protect employees’ health and safety.

NIADA has added two new training opportunities to show independent dealers how to get into the Buy Here-Pay Here business and to help established BHPH dealers ramp up their service departments. Both training sessions – the latest addition to NIADA’s growing educational offerings – will be held at the NIADA’s Florida offices in Sarasota.

NIADA’s BHPH Training School, set for July 18-19, is a comprehensive two-day program that provides dealers a blueprint for starting a BHPH operation.

The session, led by NIADA Dealer 20 Groups moderator/consultant Mark Dubois, will offer training on everything from financing to operations and everything in between.

Among the topics to be covered are acquiring the right inventory for your business model, determining cash flow and profitability projections, pay plans for key personnel, analyzing your business’ performance and the keys to successful deal structure, underwriting and collections, among many others.

The next day, July 20, the BHPH Service Operations Training session will provide dealers with proven processes to raise the level of their service department – a vital part of a successful BHPH operation.

NIADA Dealer 20 Groups moderator/consultant David Brotherton will show attendees how to improve their reconditioning process, get the most from their technicians, tune up their quality control, keep up with parts costs, work with finance, keep customers in their cars and more.
