Industry Educational Providers are other automotive related non-proft organizations or institutions of higher learning (trade schools, colleges, universities) with automotive related programs and curriculum.  These entities are approved through NIADA's Education Department.

American Recovery Association


The American Recovery Association sponsors certification programs for professionals in the field. These certifications include the following:

  • Certified Collateral Recovery Specialists (CCRS) designates members who have completed a course of learning to further raise their standards of excellence.

  • CRA (Certified Recovery Agent) is a program developed for the field representatives working for a CCRS. The CRA must complete on-the-job-training from the CCRS, take a course on repossession laws and procedures (provided by the Society) and pass a written test on the subject.

  • The Certified Asset Recovery Specialist™ (C.A.R.S.), National Certification program is the first comprehensive national educational program developed for professionals within the collateral recovery industry.

Association of Finance and Insurance Professionals (AFIP)


The Association of Finance and Insurance Professionals was established to support dealership F&I personnel and the lenders and vendors that support the F&I trade. AWARE

An AWARE "Education Ally" is an organization that shares our commitment to expanding consumers’ understanding of the vehicle financing process, and is working with AWARE to disseminate this information. Unlike AWARE members, Education Allies are not directly involved in providing or facilitating auto financing themselves.

Northwood University


Northwood University has main campuses located in Midland, Michigan, Cedar Hill, Texas and West Palm Beach, Florida. Northwood’s partnership led to the development of  NIADA's acclaimed Certified Master Dealer™ program in 2001, and continues to recognize those classroom hours as potential credits that may be applied to a dealer’s degree plan.  Annually, key members of the Northwood staff assist NIADA in selecting the National Quality Dealer of the Year and NIADA’s Regional Scholarship recipients.
